OUR TEAM
The staff team is led by the managing director, Mariëtte Jacobs, who is also a registered counselling psychologist.
Our team mostly consists of contracted facilitators/consultants, working on different projects to provide expert input, while we collaborate closely with partner organisations. The board of directors is closely involved with the overseeing of service delivery to ensure that we continue to function in line with best practice.

Mariëtte Jacobs
Managing Director
Mariëtte is a registered psychologist with a passion to see the civil society sector thrive. She believes this can be accomplished through ethical organisational development, effective leadership, collaboration and quality service delivery to communities, with the best interest of children paramount. Mariëtte loves reading, exploring nature and caring for animals.

Nanine Steenkamp
Narrative Consultant
Nanine is the Initiator of content development business D’light Story Collective. She has a decade of cross-industry experience in multimedia (publishing, filming and marketing) and believes in the power of collaboration for establishing holistic community upliftment.

Sophie Olivier
Fundraising
Sophie has worked in the NGO sector in Cape Town for the past 12 years. Originally from the UK, Sophie has always had a passion for community development and seeing change through the church’s response to social action. Sophie loves the outdoor life that Cape Town offers of hiking and braais, with her husband David and son William. Sophie is working with Ezrah as a fundraising consultant.

Janique Amber Oliver
Marketing and Communications
Janique is a Creative with a heart for community. She has worked on various community driven projects focused on youth empowerment, employability, development and mentoring. Her business brand is called Community Creative.

Lesley Huysamen
Director
Lesley Huysamen is a founding director of Ezrah with a passion for child protection and seeing children thrive. She is married and the mother of four children. Apart from investing time in her own family as a priority, she is assisting her husband in their family business (www.1001.co.za) and contributing to community initiatives in order to help build safe communities.
Maarten Meyer
Director
Maarten Meyer works as attorney and alternative dispute resolution practitioner (www.maartenm.co.za). Maarten is married with three children and enjoy sports and the outdoors. He loves to see children thrive through quality education, teamwork and empowering relationships within a strong ethical framework, all of which find expression in and through serving on Ezrah’s board.
